how do i say that this was a very good book but so repetitive that i felt like i was being beaten with a mallet? the themes are going to be repetitive and i was fine with that because it’s the same root issue at every turn that coates eventually makes his way back to. the themes can’t be escaped. but what killed me was the continual and frequent use of lists that were often the exact same list… so yeah this was Very Good and extremely poignant, but soooo repetitive.
