Description
In a kingdom built on violence and fear, a destitute musician known only as the Artist finds himself drawn into the opulent court of a powerful King. Tasked with singing the King's praises, the Artist navigates a treacherous world where power is absolute and escape is impossible. Amidst the gilded cage of the palace, he becomes entangled in a forbidden desire for the King's most prized possession, a woman desperately trying to flee the very place everyone else longs to enter. This allegorical tale explores themes of power, corruption, and the intoxicating allure of a kingdom built on illicit gains, all rendered in Herrera's signature lyrical and unsettling prose.
