Description
Following the death of her husband, a grieving narrator retreats into isolation, her world fractured and quiet. When she encounters her literary agent, the conversation turns to a potential book proposal, sparking a new direction. A visit to a museum in Edinburgh leads to a chance encounter with a painting that ignites a fascination with its subject, a woman named Helen Ralston, who once modeled for a portrait.
