Description
Ada Limón, a celebrated voice in contemporary poetry, returns with a collection that delves into the intricate connections between the natural world and the human heart. These poems explore themes of belonging, loss, and the quiet resilience found in everyday moments, often drawing parallels between the cycles of nature and our own emotional landscapes. With her signature blend of sharp observation and profound empathy, Limón invites readers to find solace and wonder in the shared experiences of existence. The Hurting Kind offers a powerful meditation on what it means to be alive, to hurt, and to heal in a world that is both beautiful and brutal.

sorta unfair to 1/5 a poetry collection but this just was not for me. i failed to connect with most of the poems and imagery. some real nice moments interspaced with rows and rows of lines that i just slogged through.
