Autopsy (of an Ex-Teen Heartthrob): (poems of rage, love, sex, and sadness)
by Avan Jogia
Description
A raw, intimate collection of poems that turns the spotlight inward, this book follows the emotional aftermath of fame through the lens of rage, love, sex, and sadness. With a high-level arc that moves from longing and self-reckoning to vulnerability and hard-won clarity, the poems explore what it means to be seen, desired, and ultimately left behind. Expect sharp honesty, confessional intensity, and lyrical heat as the speaker grapples with identity, power, and the messy tenderness of human connection. Written in Avan Jogia’s distinctive voice—direct, contemporary, and emotionally unguarded—these poems read like a private autopsy of the heart, performed in public.

somehow dancing the line of being both completely void of skill and mind numbingly pretentious, i have never read a worse book in my life and i actually feel bad saying that. the type of self awareness and introspection that makes poetry worth reading is not only absent from this collection, but i find myself convinced that the worst indie guy you went to school with couldn't have even dreamed up something as disappointing as this.
