Description
When a dangerous secret resurfaces, a relentless outsider known only as “Rogue” is pulled into a high-stakes conflict that tests loyalties, exposes hidden motives, and forces hard choices with consequences that ripple far beyond the first confrontation. As the pressure mounts, Rogue must navigate shifting alliances and escalating threats, uncovering what—or who—has been manipulating events from the shadows. Blending suspense with character-driven tension, the story explores themes of identity, trust, and moral ambiguity in a world where survival often depends on what you’re willing to become. With Onley James’s sharp pacing and immersive, cinematic storytelling, this is a fast-moving thriller that keeps readers guessing until the very edge of each turn.

i was just so irritated during this one. every scene with micah was repetitive to the point of eye-rolling boredom and the author spent genuinely half of this book setting up other couples instead of discussing the couple it’s supposed to be about. shiloh and levi literally played like 5th fiddle in their own book. all of my complaints aren’t even about shiloh or levi, which is really part of the problem. i will say i noticed there was a marked improvement on verbal consent, communication, and general sexual prep. but that can’t make up for the rest of the book.

at the end of this for me is the glaringly problematic representation of malachi. while nothing about him is named in rogue, it’s clear he’s being set up for a genderfluid, autistic, dissociative identity disorder characterization. if he doesn’t have DID, i genuinely worry what the author thinks genderfluidity is (and it still would be bad DID rep). even if all three of these traits are happening at once, not even the combo could result in the deeply unpleasant characterization he’s ended up with.
