Description
In the summer of 1978, eighteen-year-old golf prodigy Mira Winston’s practice swing sends a ball through a torn net and kills a teenage caddy, transforming a seemingly tragic accident into a case that threatens to upend an entire community. As investigators scrutinize the evidence and Mira’s history, she seeks refuge in dangerous relationships and among people whose own secrets complicate the truth. Moving from the privileged grounds of a Westchester country club to the stark intensity of a courtroom, this gripping novel explores grief, class, power, predation, and the devastating consequences of a single moment.
