Who Killed Una Lynskey?: A True Story of Murder, Vigilante Justice and the Garda ‘Heavy Gang’
Description
In the autumn of 1971, the disappearance of nineteen-year-old Una Lynskey plunged a quiet rural community into a spiral of tragedy and injustice. Within weeks, gardaí focused on three local men, a decision that would lead to devastating consequences, including the brutal vigilante killing of one suspect and the wrongful imprisonment of others. This gripping true crime account meticulously reconstructs the botched investigation, revealing how crucial evidence was overlooked and justice was tragically denied. Drawing on exclusive interviews and private investigator files, the narrative exposes the profound failures of the era's policing and judicial systems, leaving a lasting scar on four families and the reputation of the Garda Síochána.
