Bangalore Detectives Club

Harini Nagendra

Set in 1920s Bangalore, this lively historical mystery follows amateur sleuth Kaveri Murthy and her husband, Ramu, as they become entangled in a dangerous investigation where privilege, politics, and long-buried secrets collide. As the couple probes a suspicious death, they navigate a society divided by class, caste, gender, and colonial power—while confronting clues that lead into a veritable nest of vipers. Richly evoking the people, places, and changing tensions of early twentieth-century India, the novel combines an absorbing whodunit with sharp observations on social reform, marriage, and women’s independence.
