Blue Sky Hill

Lisa Wingate

When Rebecca Macklin discovers that her aging father, who is struggling with Alzheimer’s, has been wandering alone, she returns to the family she has tried to hold together from a distance. There, she confronts the realities of a mother disabled by a stroke, a mentally challenged brother, and a marginalized daughter whose needs have too often been overlooked. Over the course of one transformative summer, long-buried wounds and difficult responsibilities force Rebecca to reconsider the meaning of love, forgiveness, and family. Tender and emotionally resonant, this novel explores caregiving, resilience, and the unexpected ways hope can take root amid hardship.
