The Bookseller Diaries

Shaun Bythell

A candid and warmly comic chronicle of life behind the counter of a secondhand bookshop in Wigtown, Scotland. Over the course of a year, the bookseller records eccentric customers, unpredictable staff, online orders, shop cats, and the daily challenges of keeping an independent business alive. Blending literary observations with sharp humor and gentle social commentary, the book offers an affectionate portrait of bookselling and the peculiar, passionate community that surrounds it.
