Ngozi Ukazu

When Jack Zimmermann, a former junior hockey player, enrolls at Samwell University, he's determined to leave his complicated past behind and focus on becoming the team's captain. But his carefully constructed plans unravel when he accidentally sends a revealing text to the wrong number, and the recipient—Eric "Bitty" Bittle, a cheerful freshman with a passion for baking and figure skating—becomes an unexpected confidant. As Jack navigates the pressures of collegiate hockey, team dynamics, and his own emotional walls, he discovers that the most transformative relationships often come from the most unlikely places. Ngozi Ukazu's debut graphic novel captures the intensity of competitive sports, the vulnerability of self-discovery, and the power of found family with warmth, humor, and genuine heart. This is a story about belonging, identity, and the courage it takes to be authentically yourself.
