The Children of the Mountain

R. A. Hakok

Ten years after a devastating attack, Gabriel has grown up inside an isolated mountain bunker with his childhood friend Mags and a community led by a reassuring but increasingly enigmatic President. As a scavenger venturing into the frozen, ruined world beyond, Gabriel discovers a bloodstained map and a clue that challenges everything he has been taught about the bunker—and the people deemed safe within it. Forced to question the meaning of survival, loyalty, and freedom, he must find a way to protect Mags and the others as hidden dangers emerge on both sides of the mountain. Fast-paced and suspenseful, this coming-of-age dystopian thriller explores trust, identity, and the human cost of living among wolves.
