David Balfour

Robert Louis Stevenson

When seventeen-year-old David Balfour is cheated out of his inheritance by his treacherous uncle and kidnapped aboard a ship bound for the Carolinas, he must rely on his wits and courage to escape his captors. Fleeing to the Scottish Highlands, David forms an unlikely alliance with Alan Breck Stewart, a Jacobite fugitive, as the two navigate a dangerous landscape of political intrigue and personal vendetta. Together they embark on a perilous journey filled with narrow escapes, betrayals, and unexpected friendships as David fights to clear his name and reclaim what is rightfully his. Stevenson's classic adventure novel captures the raw beauty and turbulent history of 18th-century Scotland while exploring themes of loyalty, identity, and the struggle for justice against overwhelming odds.
