Dear Martin

Nic Stone

After entering a not-guilty plea in the shooting death of a police officer, incarcerated teenager Quan is left to await trial in a holding cell. Through a series of letters to Justyce, he reflects on the experiences, choices, and systemic forces that shaped his path into the justice system. Told through intimate correspondence and revealing flashbacks, the novel explores racism, poverty, policing, incarceration, friendship, and the possibility of hope amid profound injustice. Its emotionally resonant, thought-provoking narrative offers a compelling examination of how circumstance and society can shape a young person’s life.
