House of robots

James Patterson

Fifth-grader Sammy Hayes-Rodriguez is determined to keep his school—and his family—from falling apart when his robot “brother” starts malfunctioning again and a newer model arrives to steal the spotlight. As competition escalates, Sammy must troubleshoot, improvise, and rally allies to uncover what’s really driving the failures. With his mother’s job hanging in the balance, every choice Sammy makes tests his courage, creativity, and sense of responsibility. Blending fast-paced humor with kid-friendly suspense, this story explores themes of technology, loyalty, and what it means to adapt when the future doesn’t go as planned.
