As the Wicked Watch
Tamron Hall
When ambitious crime reporter Jordan Manning arrives in Chicago, she expects the move to bring her closer to a coveted national-anchor position—not into the path of a killer targeting Black girls and women. After the discovery of a murdered teenager, Jordan becomes determined to expose the pattern others have overlooked, confronting a newsroom and city willing to let these victims fade from the headlines. Drawing on her forensic training, sharp instincts, and unshakable commitment to the voiceless, she pursues the truth while risking her career, safety, and already-strained personal life. A timely, atmospheric thriller, the novel explores racial injustice, media responsibility, ambition, and the human cost of being ignored.
