Maja Lunde

Maja Lunde's "The History of Bees" masterfully weaves together three distinct narratives across centuries, exploring humanity's profound and often fraught relationship with the vital insect. From a 19th-century English biologist striving for innovation to a modern-day American farmer facing ecological collapse, and a future where bees are extinct, the novel paints a vivid picture of our dependence on these creatures. Through compelling characters and a deeply researched narrative, Lunde examines themes of family, legacy, and the urgent need for environmental awareness. This is a thought-provoking and timely novel that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the humble bee and the delicate balance of our planet.
