The Legend of the Locust

Laurence Moroney

In a secret school hidden beneath the Nevada desert, four gifted children begin an extraordinary education designed to prepare humanity for its next evolutionary leap—and perhaps its future among the stars. Bullied Irish newcomer Fintan Reilly, his irrepressible friend Zach Adams, brilliant military daughter Ayako Katsuragi, and formidable Navajo student Nizhoni Benally must navigate new friendships, buried connections, and lessons that range from cosmic history to piloting spacecraft. As their first year unfolds under the guidance of an alien headmaster, their studies lead to a dangerous journey beyond Earth, where they encounter evidence that challenges everything they thought they knew about human history. Blending science fiction, adventure, mystery, and coming-of-age themes, the novel explores friendship, identity, destiny, and the possibilities of human evolution.
