Ten years after a brutal massacre and a devastating curse plunged his homeland into darkness, Finnikin is summoned by a mysterious young woman who claims the lost heir to the throne still lives. Driven by a flicker of hope and the arrogance of his new companion, Finnikin begins to believe he might see his childhood friend again. Yet, as they journey toward their homeland, the truth of their quest will profoundly test Finnikin's faith in Evanjalin, in the possibility of redemption, and ultimately, in himself. This epic fantasy weaves together magic, romance, and intrigue, exploring profound themes of exile, belonging, and the enduring power of hope in a world shrouded by despair.
