Lyle the Crocodile

Roz Chast

When the Primm family moves into a new home, they discover a most unusual housemate: a crocodile named Lyle who loves baths, caviar, and music. While young Josh Primm quickly befriends the gentle giant, his parents are less enthusiastic, especially after a run-in with their grumpy neighbor, Mr. Grumps. Mr. Grumps's fear and prejudice lead him to have Lyle sent to the zoo, but it's not long before Lyle's unique talents and inherent goodness prove invaluable, leading to an unexpected turn of events that challenges everyone's perceptions.
