Dan Santat

When a simple bake-sale plan goes hilariously wrong, a determined kid and a cast of unexpected helpers must navigate the chaos of spilled dough, mixed-up ingredients, and escalating misunderstandings. As the day spirals from “just one little cookie” into a full-blown fiasco, the story follows how teamwork, creativity, and resilience can turn mistakes into something surprisingly sweet. With its fast-paced, kid-friendly humor and expressive illustrations, this book explores themes of problem-solving, friendship, and learning to roll with imperfection. Dan Santat’s signature visual storytelling brings every mishap to life, making this a delightful read-aloud for young readers who love big laughs and bigger lessons.
