Mr. Terupt

Rob Buyea

When seven fifth-graders arrive at Snow Hill School, they couldn't be more different—from the new girl struggling to fit in, to the class bully, the prankster, the shy outcast, and those who simply don't belong. Enter Mr. Terupt, an energetic and unconventional teacher who somehow manages to reach each of them, transforming the classroom into a place where learning becomes an adventure and misfits find unexpected connection. But when a tragic winter accident shatters their world, these seven students must navigate loss, forgiveness, and the profound ways a single teacher can change the trajectory of their lives. Through alternating perspectives, this heartwarming yet poignant novel explores how one person's compassion and belief in others can heal wounds and unite a fractured group of kids. A touching story about the power of education, friendship, and second chances that resonates with readers of all ages.
