The Nightsiders

Jonathan Maberry

In a world where memories can be stolen through the tattoos that hold them, a ruthless predator feeds on the experiences people have chosen to preserve. Lonely and damaged souls—including a former Navy SEAL haunted by war—are drawn together in a desperate hunt for the memory thief before more lives are hollowed out. Blending supernatural horror with noir-inflected suspense, the story explores trauma, identity, grief, and the fragile connection between memory and self. Tense, unsettling, and emotionally charged, it turns the permanence of ink into a chilling question: what remains when the past is taken away?
