Michel Tournier

Michel Tournier's Prix Goncourt-winning novel, The Ogre, is a profound exploration of innocence corrupted and the seductive nature of power. The story traces the unsettling transformation of Abel Tiffauges, a man whose gentle nature is twisted by the dark currents of history and ideology. As he becomes entangled with the Nazi regime and its chilling experiments, the novel delves into the heart of fascism with unflinching intensity. This is a masterful, disturbing, and unforgettable examination of the human capacity for both good and profound evil.
