Ch'ŏng-jun Yi

A searching work of modern Korean fiction, *The Wounded* explores the lingering emotional and moral scars left by violence, loss, and a fractured history. Through an intimate encounter shaped by memory and silence, the narrative examines how individuals struggle to confront suffering—and how they attempt to preserve dignity in its aftermath. Poignant and psychologically nuanced, the novel reflects Ch'ŏng-jun Yi’s characteristic interest in trauma, responsibility, and the uneasy relationship between personal experience and collective history.
