Prelude to Dune

Brian Herbert

Step into the legendary world of Dune decades before Paul Muad'Dib's rise to power in this prelude to Frank Herbert's epic saga. Working from Frank Herbert's personal files, Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson weave together the interconnected destinies of three remarkable figures: young Leto Atreides, whose education on the mechanized world of Ix will shape his future; Pardot Kynes, a visionary planetologist uncovering the mysteries of the desert planet Arrakis; and Duncan Idaho, a slave child whose determination to escape bondage sets him on a path toward greatness. As political intrigue threatens the Imperial throne and hidden forces move across the galaxy, these individuals unknowingly converge toward a fate that will transform them into legends and reshape the course of history. This richly layered novel captures the complex world Frank Herbert imagined while exploring the origins of the conflicts and alliances that define the Dune universe.
