Juan Carlos Onetti

In this seminal work, Juan Carlos Onetti plunges readers into the existential crisis of Juan María Brausen, a disillusioned copywriter grappling with the mundane realities of his life. As his wife recovers from a serious illness, Brausen finds himself adrift, questioning his identity and the very fabric of his existence. This novel masterfully explores themes of alienation, the search for meaning, and the blurred lines between reality and imagination, all rendered in Onetti's signature introspective and melancholic style.
