The Scorched Throne

Sara Hashem

Ten years after the kingdom of Jasad was conquered and its royal family presumed dead, Sylvia has built a quiet life while hiding the truth: she is the lost heir, Essiya, and a wielder of forbidden magic. When Arin, heir to the rival kingdom of Nizahl, discovers evidence of her power while pursuing Jasadi rebels, Sylvia is forced into a dangerous bargain with her greatest enemy. As rebellion stirs and suspicion closes in, she must navigate shifting loyalties, buried grief, and an attraction that threatens to compromise her carefully guarded identity. Set in a richly Egyptian-inspired world, this sweeping fantasy explores survival, imperial violence, legacy, forbidden magic, and the cost of reclaiming a crown.
