In a world where a sentient estate chooses its ruler, the death of the Lord of Stariel throws his eccentric and magical family into a chaotic succession. Hetta, the scandalous daughter who fled years ago, returns home for her father's funeral, expecting only to navigate family drama and escape before the Choosing. However, her plans are upended when the fae, long absent from the Mortal Realm, begin to return, posing a grave threat that only the newly chosen Lord of Stariel can face. This enchanting tale blends cozy fantasy with romantic intrigue, exploring themes of family, duty, and the unexpected magic that lies within a beloved, ancient estate.
