Strange the Dreamer Duology

Laini Taylor

Lazlo Strange, a war orphan and junior librarian, has spent his life haunted by a dream—and by the myth of Weep, a lost city said to be unreachable. When a legendary hero known as the Godslayer offers him a chance to chase that dream across the world, Lazlo must decide whether to risk everything for answers that may cost him his sanity, his safety, and even his sense of self. As the past resurfaces in the wake of gods’ deaths, Lazlo uncovers the truth behind what was slain, why Weep was sealed away, and why a blue-skinned goddess from his dreams seems more real than ever. Blending lyrical fantasy with sweeping adventure, Strange the Dreamer explores memory, longing, and the dangerous power of stories—where love and violence, wonder and dread, are inseparable. Laini Taylor’s signature style—mythic, atmospheric, and emotionally charged—turns this quest into a haunting, breathtaking journey into the heart of the impossible.
