Tending Roses

Lisa Wingate

When Kate Bowman, her husband, and their infant son leave their demanding life in Chicago for an extended stay at her grandmother’s Missouri farm, they expect a temporary escape—but find themselves drawn into old family tensions and difficult decisions about the future. As Kate helps care for her spirited eighty-nine-year-old grandmother, memories of summers past and the quiet rhythms of rural life prompt her to reconsider her priorities, career, and understanding of home. Set against the warmth and friction of a multigenerational family gathering, this heartfelt novel explores faith, forgiveness, family bonds, and the unexpected wisdom found in tending both gardens and relationships.
