Vik and Stubo

Anne Holt

A high-profile bishop is murdered in public, and criminal researcher and police profiler Johanne Vik is drawn into an investigation that quickly outgrows its official boundaries. As Vik follows a series of unsettling discoveries—from a dead addict in a hidden basement to a vulnerable asylum seeker found in the harbor, and a body recovered from the river—each clue suggests a different motive, yet the pattern insists on connection. With powerful figures and a self-made industrialist looming just out of reach, Vik must navigate fear, vulnerability, and manipulation while testing what the institutions around her are willing to admit. Blending Anne Holt’s incisive psychological profiling with tightly wound suspense, this novel probes moral responsibility and the ways violence can be both intimate and systemic.
