Arkady Strugatsky

Arkady Strugatsky, who died in 1991, was a Soviet science-fiction writer who collaborated with brother Boris through most of their careers. Among their books are Roadside Picnic, an adventure novel with dystopian undertones, and Monday Begins on Saturday, a satire set at a Soviet research institute of sorcery. Much of their work asks whether people should intervene in the development of other civilizations. One Billion Years to the End of the World, also written with Boris, is another satirical science-fiction novel.
