Dan Ariely is an Israeli-American author and professor of business administration at Duke University, writing about how people make decisions in ways that are predictable yet often irrational. His books include Predictably Irrational, The Upside of Irrationality and The Honest Truth about Dishonesty, and from 2012 to 2022 he wrote the "Ask Ariely" advice column for The Wall Street Journal. Since 2021, the accuracy of his studies has been questioned, with two articles retracted and allegations of data manipulation and fraud.
