Hilary Mantel

Dame Hilary Mantel was a British writer of historical fiction, memoir and short stories, best known for the Wolf Hall trilogy about Thomas Cromwell at the court of Henry VIII. Her novels Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies each won the Booker Prize, and the third volume, The Mirror and the Light, was longlisted for it. Her other books include A Place of Greater Safety, The Giant O'Brien, and the memoir Giving Up the Ghost. Mantel died in 2022.
