Jean-Patrick Manchette

Jean-Patrick Manchette was a French crime novelist credited with reinventing and reinvigorating crime fiction. He wrote ten short novels in the seventies and early eighties, including Nada, The Prone Gunman and Three to Kill, and he is widely recognized as the foremost French crime fiction author of that period. His stories are violent explorations of people and French society, written from a left-wing political view. He died in 1995.
