Mary Downing Hahn is an American writer of young adult novels and a former school librarian, best known for ghost and mystery stories such as Wait Till Helen Comes and Stepping On The Cracks. Her first book came out in 1979, and she has since written more than thirty novels, among them Took and The Old Willis Place. Her latest, What We Saw, appeared in September 2022. Closed for the Season follows a thirteen-year-old who moves with his family into a neglected Virginia house and gets pulled into an old murder.
