Description
Thirteen-year-old Logan and his family settle into a neglected old house in rural Virginia, only to find that the past is still present—especially after he learns a woman was murdered there. Drawn into a tense, real-world mystery with his neighbor Arthur, Logan must navigate clues, secrets, and shifting loyalties as the investigation grows more dangerous with every discovery. Blending suspense with coming-of-age stakes, the story explores how communities remember, how fear can shape truth, and how courage is tested when history refuses to stay buried. Mary Downing Hahn’s signature style—at once atmospheric and emotionally sharp—makes this a gripping read for fans of haunting mysteries and thoughtful, character-driven suspense.
