Pete Pfitzinger is an American former distance runner who went on to become an author, exercise physiologist and sports administrator. He is best known for the marathon, where he was the top U.S. finisher at two Summer Olympics, placing 11th at the Los Angeles Olympics and 14th at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. His books include Advanced Marathoning, a guide to training for a faster marathon, and Faster Road Racing, and he co-wrote Road Racing for Serious Runners with Scott Douglas.
