Yi Munyol's books are literary fiction with a coming-of-age streak. Our Twisted Hero is a short novel set in a country classroom, where a transferred boy from Seoul goes up against a domineering class bully and the classmates who go along with him; it works as an allegory of power and conformity. The Poet is another coming-of-age work of literary fiction.
