Description

When forensic archaeologist Ruth Galloway is called to examine an ancient coffin in a Norfolk cathedral, her investigation takes an unsettling turn after a prominent museum curator is found dead. As Ruth works alongside Detective Chief Inspector Harry Nelson, evidence draws them into a web involving Aboriginal artifacts, religious history, academic rivalries, and long-buried secrets. Atmospheric and intricately plotted, the novel explores the tensions between science and faith, cultural ownership, and the ways the past continues to shape the present.
