Description

This semi-autobiographical novel chronicles the early life of Jeanette, a young girl adopted into a fervent Pentecostal household in northern England. Raised on a strict diet of scripture and evangelism, Jeanette finds herself increasingly at odds with the rigid doctrines of her adoptive mother and the church community. Her burgeoning awareness of her own identity and desires, particularly a forbidden love for another girl, sets her on a collision course with the beliefs she has always known.
