Description
Finlay Donovan is a struggling suburban mom and unpublished crime novelist who finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time—and suddenly becomes the prime suspect in a real murder investigation. When a detective mistakes her for a contract killer and she's too panicked to correct him, Finlay decides to play along, hoping to clear her name by finding the actual murderer. As she navigates the dangerous world of actual criminals while juggling her chaotic family life, failed writing career, and mounting legal troubles, Finlay discovers that real crime is far messier and more complicated than anything she could have written. Elle Cosimano's debut delivers a darkly comedic and thrilling mystery that blends laugh-out-loud humor with genuine suspense, proving that sometimes the best stories are the ones you never planned to live.
