Description
Two college roommates, driven by ambition and a shared fascination with near-death experiences, unlock the secret to extraordinary abilities, but their groundbreaking discovery leads to a catastrophic falling out. Ten years later, one escapes prison seeking revenge, while the other hunts down those with powers, setting the stage for a brutal confrontation fueled by betrayal and loss. This gritty, comic-book-inspired world questions the nature of heroism and the corrupting influence of power, as archnemeses Victor and Eli collide in a battle for survival.

so the best thing about this book, is that I think the powers are the least interesting thing about the characters. I wanna study these people, not cuz of the powers they got but because of the way their brain works. it takes a specific kind of person to go oh yeah I think I'll kill myself because theres maybe a chance I could come back with superpowers. came back wrong? maybe true, but you were wrong to start with so im not sure it was the coming back that did anything
