Description
Set in the Old West, this powerful historical romance follows Rhine Fontaine, a successful Black man whose carefully constructed life depends on passing as white, and Eddy Carmichael, the spirited woman he rescues from the desert. Though Eddy is determined to earn enough money to begin anew in California, an undeniable attraction draws the two together—and threatens the identities, ambitions, and futures they have fought to protect. Against a backdrop of racial injustice, social constraints, and hard-won independence, their forbidden connection becomes both a dangerous risk and a chance at lasting love.
