Description
In a land fractured by war and upheaval, a humble servant girl named Grusha risks everything to save an abandoned infant from certain death. Her act of compassion sets in motion a chain of events that will test the very definition of motherhood and justice. Presided over by the unconventional Judge Azdak, a trial unfolds not based on law, but on a deeper, more human understanding of love and sacrifice. This powerful parable, framed by a story within a story, ultimately asks who truly deserves what they possess.
