Description
In a near-future city where the ordinary rules of life begin to fail, a man’s routine existence is shattered by an escalating, unsettling transformation of the urban landscape. As isolation deepens and the boundaries between civilization and collapse blur, he confronts the psychological and moral consequences of a world that has quietly turned hostile. Blending stark realism with Ballard’s signature unease, the novel explores themes of alienation, environmental dread, and the fragile systems we rely on to feel safe. With its razor-edged atmosphere and provocative social insight, this is a chilling meditation on modernity’s hidden vulnerabilities.

it was such a strong concept that personally means so much to me and such a promising start that the 2nd act of the book being a let down was a just horrible blow to my morale
