Magic's Pawn

Description

Born with extraordinary magical gifts, Vanyel Ashkevon desires a life far removed from the responsibilities of a Herald-Mage, yearning instead to be a Bard. However, his untamed power poses a danger to himself and those around him, forcing him into training with his aunt, Savil, a renowned Herald-Mage. Vanyel's rebellious spirit clashes with the rigorous discipline required, and his raw magic soon becomes entangled with dark forces, unleashing monstrous wyr-hunters upon the land. As the peril escalates, Vanyel must confront his destiny and learn to control his volatile abilities before they consume him and Valdemar itself.
