Description

As violence and instability tighten their grip on the valley, Jim Powell reinforces his home and sets out with his closest friend, Lloyd, to scout a possible refuge for the people they love. Their journey offers no easy escape: Jim wrestles with the burden of leadership and the consequences of his violent reputation, while Lloyd dreams of abandoning his gun for the life of a traveling musician—even as he turns their ordeal into darkly comic folk songs. Against a backdrop of a collapsing society, the two men confront loyalty, responsibility, survival, and the painful limits of personal freedom. Tense, atmospheric, and laced with gritty humor, this post-apocalyptic thriller explores whether peace is possible when violence has become an inescapable way of life.
